In-situ growth of Mg(OH)(2) coating on AZ31B magnesium alloy with the assistance of Ti3C2Tx MXene

Abstract:In-situ growth of Mg(OH)(2) coating on magnesium alloy was usually used to improve the corrosion resistance of the substrate. In this study, a novel two-layer Mg(OH)(2) coating was prepared with the assistance of Ti(3)C(2)Tx MXene by a facile one-step hydrothermal method. Ti(3)C(2)Tx MXene in hydrothermal solution can promote the growth of Mg(OH)(2) and combine with Mg(OH)(2) stably. The Mg(OH)(2)@MXene coating can obviously enhance the corrosion resistance of the substrate.
