Improved antibacterial abilities of cotton fabric assisted by photocatalytic bismuth oxybromide/gold nanohybrids modification
关键字:
摘要:Photocatalysts have attracted much attention as they can efficiently boost the antibacterial abilities of materials. In this work, cotton fabric was modified by bismuth oxybromide/gold (BiOBr/Au) nanohybrids via a successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction procedure, followed by the photoreduction process. Owing to the synergism of flaky BiOBr and enhanced photocatalytic activity assisted by Au nanoparticles, the modified cotton fabric exhibited improved antibacterial performance against E. coli and S. aureus, of which the lethality rate reached to 99.9% and 99.0%, respectively. Furthermore, the biocompatibility of the samples was validated via culturing breast cells. This work provided a facile bottom-up strategy to improve the antibacterial performance of cotton fabric against bacterial contamination.
