Role of amphiphilic block copolymer P-123 in the preparation of Zirconia nanoparticles

Abstract:In this paper, ZrO2 nanoparticles was prepared by chemical precipatation method with amphiphilic block copolymer P-123. as surfactant. Through TEM, XRD, IR, TG-DSC and particle size analyzing, the role of block copolymer P-123 in the preparation of ZrO2 nanoparticles was investigated. It is found that the amphiphilic block copolymer plays an important role in preventing the agglomeration of particles in the process of reaction, washing, drying and calcinations of precipitation. Monodisperse ZrO2 nanoparticles with size about 50nm was prepared.
