Study on the anti-oxidation property of Fe3Al matrix composite material

Abstract:Fe3Al matrix composite material was prepared by powder metallurgy technology. Study on the anti-oxidation property and abrasion mechanism of Fe3Al matrix composite material was carried out. it has been found that, either hot-oxidation test or high rotating and heavy load test of friction and abrasion, Al2O3 protecting film formed played a vital role in anti-oxidation process, which can prevent oxygen atom from invading inner of composite and improve anti-oxidation of the composite. The abrasion mechanism of the composite was mainly abrasive wear.
