Insight into the formation of magnetite mesocrystals from ferrous precursors in ethylene glycol

Abstract:Uniform magnetite mesocrystals were fabricated by solvothermal treatment of ferrous chloride in ethylene glycol in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The formation mechanism of magnetite mesocrystals in ethylene glycol was deduced by a time-dependent experiment.
