摘要：Exothermal montmorillonite (EMMT) was prepared and used in the preparation of HDPE composites in which the EMMT was intercalated. Compared with the ODA modified montmorillonite (OMMT), EMMT exhibited better intercalation behavior during melt compounding, resulting in similar tensile modulus and better tensile strength and elongation at break of the corresponding composites. The crystallization of the polymeric matrix and the dispersion of MMT were systemically investigated; their relationship with the mechanical properties of the composites are discussed as well.
