Wicker-like SiC@graphene multidimensional nanostructures and their robust stable super-hydrophobic property against harsh conditions for self-cleaning application

Abstract:Herein, the SiC@graphene multidimensional nanostructures were fabricated through a controllable, eco-friendly, and post-modification-free approach. The optimal product displayed an outstanding super-hydrophobic property with a contact angle of 162.8 degrees and a low contact angle hysteresis (sliding angle) of 2 degrees at room temperature, implying its extensive potential application in the self-cleaning field. Additionally, a reasonable temperaturedependent growth model and a bionic synergistic super-hydrophobic model were also established, respectively. More attractively, the products possessed robust stable super-hydrophobic property and potential selfcleaning behavior even under long-term exposure to diverse harsh conditions, including strong corrosion, UVirradiation, and abnormal temperature.
