Abstract:The title compound, C12H14N2O3, was synthesized as an intermediate for the synthesis of metamitron. The benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 86.3 (2) and 10.0 (3)degrees with the ethyl group and the acetylimino plane, respectively. The crystal structure involves intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.
