Structure adjustment of mesoporous ZrO2 prepared with the middle phase formed in extraction systems

摘要:Mesoporous ZrO2 with surface area of 100-180 m(2)/g and pore size of 2.5-3.5 nm can be prepared by copying the middle phase template formed in the trialkyl phosphine oxide (TRPO)-kerosene/Zr(IV)-HCl extraction system. The microstructure of the middle phase template is related to the initial composition of the extraction system. Excessive solvent, extractant, and polar additives (such as long-chain alcohol) solubilized in the middle phase cause the bi-continuous structure to be changed, or even destroyed forming a w/o microemulsion. The key to obtain mesoporous ZrO2 successfully is to prepare the middle phase template with an optimized bi-continuous structure.
