Preparation and dispersion of Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles

Abstract:Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. The influences of reactant content, pH value and dispersers on the size distribution and dispersion were studied by using TEM, XRD, BET, zeta potential and size analysis. The results show that the particles size and distribution range increases with increases of reactant content; pH value affect the dispersion of nanosized Fe₃O₄ particles through zeta potential; FeCl₃ is a good disperser to Fe ₃O₄ nanopowder.
