Fluorescent solvent-free cellulose ionic complex towards thermostable luminescent coating material
- Key Words:THERMOTROPIC LIQUID-CRYSTALS; AGGREGATION-INDUCED EMISSION; PROTEINS
- Abstract:A new type of fluorescent cellulose ionic complex is developed via the electrostatic fabrication between carboxymethylcellulose and a tetraphenylethene-containing ammonium surfactant, which shows thermotropic liquid crystal properties. Under UV excitation, the reported solvent-free cellulose material gives bright lumi-nescence with excellent quantum yield, due to the aggregation-induced emi property of the surfactant. The new complex showing good thermostability, water-resistance properties and preliminary labeling and coating at elevated temperature and under aqueous conditions is demonstrated.
