- Abstract:Seawater electrolysis coupled with hydrazine oxidation is an effective strategy for energy efficient hydrogen production. In this paper, Fe, F co-doping Ni2P wrapped by N-doped carbon layers having distinct 2D/3D structure (Fe/F-Ni2P@NC) was synthesized on nickel foam. DFT result reveals that due to the Fe, F dual doping to realize the electronic redistribution. In alkaline seawater the Fe/F-Ni2P@NC exhibit excellent bifunctional catalytic performance for hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In comparison with the overall water splitting (OWS) seawater system, it is encouraging that the overall hydrazine splitting (OHzS) system can save 3.35 kW.h to produce 1.0 m 3 of H-2. Moreover, the hydrazine sewage of industry is utilized as feedstock for electrolysis system, which can be rapidly degraded to similar to 5 ppb. This research provides an effective method for the preparation of efficient catalysts and the energy expanse.
