摘要:We report here effects of single-walled carbon nanotube-supported Pt-based bimetallic catalysts (Pt-Cr, Pt-Mn, Pt-Fe, Pt-Co, Pt-Ni, and Pt-Sn) and trimetallic catalyst (Pt-Cr-Co) on methanol and ethanol oxidation. In comparison to a Pt catalyst, the introduction of other elements can improve catalytic oxidation characteristics in terms of oxidation potential, oxidation current density, and the tolerance to poisoning by absorbed species. Meanwhile, the Pt-Cr-Co trimetallic catalyst has better catalytic properties than Pt-Cr and Pt-Co catalysts. For instance, in comparison to a Pt catalyst for methanol oxidation, the addition of Fe, Ni, and Sn improves the tolerance to poisoning, increases the oxidation current density, and decreases the oxidation potential, respectively.
