Electrocatalytic properties of MoS<inf>2</inf> in-situ grown on graphene oxide as counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells

摘要:Molybdenum sulfide/graphene oxide (MoS<inf>2</inf>/GO) composite was prepared using an in-situ hydrothermal route. The MoS<inf>2</inf>/GO composite serves as low-cost and high efficient platinum-free counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells. Cyclic voltammetry analysis indicates that the MoS<inf>2</inf>/GO electrode possesses high electrocatalytic activity and fast reaction kinetics for the reduction of triiodide to iodide at the counter electrode, which is due to special structure and compositions of MoS<inf>2</inf>/GO film. The solar cell with the novel MoS<inf>2</inf>/GO counter electrode achieves a higher power conversion efficiency of 6.69% under standard light illumination, which exceeds that of the cell with a Pt counter electrode (5.25%).<br/> &copy; The Electrochemical Society.
