Abstract:Cerium phosphate micro-nano spheres were synthesized by a hydrothermal method using cerium nitrate and H(6)P(4)O(13) as the PO(4)(3-) source, without template and surfactant. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) measurements. The result showed that dispersive cerium phosphate micro-nano spheres were obtained at 120 degrees C and pH=1-2. Average particle size of cerium phosphate was about 1 mu m. The crystal structure of CePO(4) depended on the preparation temperature. The hexagonal crystal structure were transformed monazite-type monoclinic cerium phosphate after heat-treat.
