Abstract:In this study, the cubic TiOF2 was modified by hydrothermal pH control, and then SiO2 was encapsulated on the surface of modified TiOF2@TiO2 composite particles by hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). This resulted in the formation of hollow cubic composite nanoparticles, TiOF2@TiO2@SiO2. The egg-shaped hollow cubic TiOF2@TiO2@SiO2 with a core-shell structure displayed excellent characteristics, including a large specific surface area, good electrical conductivity, and the potential for high performance in electrorheological (ER) applications. The results showed that the TiOF2@TiO2@SiO2 composite exhibit excellent ER performance.
