Synthesis and crystal structure of 6-ethoxycarbonyl-1H-benzimidazole dihydrate

Abstract:The crystal and molecular structures of C10H10N2O2.2H(2)O (1) has been determined by X-ray crystallography. 1 crystallizes in the trigonal system, space group R-3c, with lattice parameters a=22.529(5), b=22.5294(5), c=21.0362(10) angstrom, alpha=beta =90, gamma=1200, V=9246.9(5) angstrom(3), and Z=12. The molecules are linked by C4H4... O2 intermolecular interactions as well as some N-O and N-N short contact into two-dimensional layers.
